Creating Package to first Close out a running application then uninstall

    Rookie

      Afternoon,

We are currently running into an issue where we have a couple of versions of a software running, two of which do not work and need to be removed.  I tried creating a software package to uninstall the software.  However, while the job says its completed the software is not being removed.  The software in order to be completely removed needs to be closed, now all our desktops have this set to autorun at login so we are looking for a way to first close out the application then uninstall.

Would this be possible via LANDesk?

      Thanks,

      J.

          Hello,

if you know the name of the process you can create a batch to kill the process and then proceed with the uninstallation.

Depending how you want to structure it you can do everything with a single package with a batch file as primary file and what you need for the uninstallation as additional files or you can create two packages, one for the batch and the other for the uninstallation and establish a dependency between the two packages.

          Regards,
