How do people use TARGET OS type in Provisioning?

I have questions regarding the Landesk designation of a provisioning template or provisioning script for a specific TARGET OS.

I operate in a mixed windows environment where I have mostly 32-bit and 64-bit Win7 machines.  I'm frequently annoyed by the TARGET OS designation because I find that I can’t use provisioning scripts or templates across those platforms, for example I can’t include a Win7x64 provisioning script in a Win7x32 provisioning template.  I can understand why this might be useful to some people but I find it terribly limiting for how I use provisioning.

Is there a way to overcome this ‘feature’ as I’d rather not have it?  Is there are way to avoid having to duplicate templates or scripts simply to designate them for different TARGET OS types?
