    OSDeployment Fail with LD SP3

    Rookie

      Hi at all,

im very new to LanDesk and until now im very comfortable with the Deployment of Software and it works like a charm.

My next Project is to Deploy Windows 7 32bit German.

Ive read all the Instructions that i could find and gave me a very good insight on how LD works. But somehow the Script after Deploying Windows 7 doesnt run....

      My steps are:

      1. Having a Master Machine with all the Corp. Software installed

      2. Started Sysprep GUI and used the Out of the Box blablabla and made a checkmark on Genarlize and Shutdown

      3. No LanDesk Agent installed

      4. Capturing the Image with PXE

--------------------- Until there it works fine all the Scripts seem to work ------

Created a OSD Script for Windows 7 Deployment

Costumized the Settings for were is the Image and that it has Sysprep

Filled in all the Blanks even for the Computer to join the Domain

      and

      Local Admin Setup

--------------------------------PXE is Up to Date with the Deployment Option available

      1. Did a test Deployment of the Windows 7 Machine with Secure PXE

      2. Script Starts and Installs the Initial Drivers for the Ethernet communication

      3. Starting up the LD Gui and start to Copy the Image to the Machine

      4. After that the Computer restarts and Windows 7 Setup Registry Setting - Optimizes Video Settings and Reboots

      5. The Initial Windows 7 System Setup Starts and shows the Gui for Language Selection and Stops....

      ----------------------------

So what did I do wrong?

Followed the instructions by the letter and i doesnt work... ^^

      Many Many thanks in advance

      Eli.

Your generated unattend.xml isnt processed it seems. Check the log in %Coreserver%\LDLog\CJ-%scriptname% for errors. Also, check if there wasnt already an unattend.xml on the filesystem with different settings.

Finally, if all of the above was good, check the logs in windows\panther for errors.

So ive checked the Log on the Core Server and Everything is OK with it.

            ---> "Job Complete","1 Done","0 Failed","0 Off","0 Unknown"

The Unattended.xml is a nother story...

Im very new to create a Unattended install with Windows 7 and read allot... So how it seems with no success.

Need a little more Info on the Unattended.xml - How it generates and were to find it. I thought that thru the Sysprep Process it creates it or that LanDesk does that for me?

            Best regards

            Eli.

Please post your log file, makes it easier to explain. But yes, LANDesk should generate it for you. IF there is an exisiting one on the system already however, like from an OEM installation, this might cause problems.

What Log files do you need? Ill provide as much info as i can to get this Project going and im excited to use Landesk to its fullest.

Let's start with the OSD script deployment log, the cj-xxxx log from the ldlog share

OK, as you can see, the file http://172.21.1.224/landesk/files/Wegold_Master_Image.xml is downloaded to the c: drive as unattend.xml. On your filesystem on your core this file is located in \\coreserver\ldmain\landesk\files

It might miss some language settings. Can you copy the contents of that file here, minus any private information in it, of course.

                          Ok,

                          Take a look here:

                          http://blog.colemberg.ch/2010/04/unattend-xml-for-language-regional-and-keyboard-settings/

Try adding the Microsoft-Windows-International-Core Component under your OOBE section, with the system locale, input locale and user locale filled with your language setting, which, i guess, is de-DE

                                    Rookie

                                    Hi Frank,

now ive tested the Script and it comes to an error.... After the LD Copy Process on the initial Windows Setup.

On the CJ log i couldnt find the error. It sez that all is OK!

Windows seems to have a problem after the new code was introduced....

Ive copy pasted the way it was....

                                    hmm......

                                    Eli.
