just to be sure, is this return code template assigned to the disti package?
Can anyone out there help?
Return Code 1000 is a successful return from WinRar sfx
My code mappings show 1000 as successful, but LD still shows it as an Error.
I am deploying a WinRAR sfx installer. For those interested, it is Solidworks 2012 sp3.
The WinRAR sfx installer uses return code 1000 for a successful install.
I have added return code 1000 (for non-MSI installs) as successful with the message "Installation completed successfully" but no matter what I do, code 1000 always shows failed in my scheduled task.
We are running LDMS 184.108.40.206.
I've attached a screenshot of my mappings for your review.
Thanks a bunch for your help.
I have also had some problems in the past with return codes and i never followed through with LANDesk tech support but:
1. Winrar sfx installer; is that an EXE or MSI? From my experience SFX installers are mostly exe. So your package is EXE not MSI.
2. Can you run the installation via a batch file with Echo turned ON and at the end of the file return the exact code with %ErrorLevel% ? Maybe 1000 is not the right number and the return code could be something else.
3. Are there any errors if you double click this SFX installer manually? Does it install as it should in unattended mode after you double click?
4. If all else fails, i'd open a case.
Can you post a screenshot of your return code setting?
You have 2 Default Non-MSI templates? Also the modified dates are different... Are you sure the right one is assigned to your package?
Yes, I am sure the correct one is applied.
see the screenshot in the first post.
Well I'm not sure the cause, but after showing failed with response code 1000, the failures change to success.
I have not been able to pin down a time of change, but it is definitely happening.
The show FAILED with 1000
By the next day, they show Success with 1000 and my custom message.
Dunno, but I do know this isn't the first issue we have had with response codes.
I have just experienced the same issue. Core is v9 sp3 and even though the return code says success it shows as failed in the task.
Here are screen shots of the failed task and the return code mapping. This is the only mapping so is the one being used and you can see the result for the task has seen this mapping but still said failed!
The return code mapping only get update when a task is created. So if you chanhe the return code mapping you need to create a new task so that the cahnge you made in the return code template is taken into consideration.
Hope this help you to understand why the task return may appear incorrect in your case and not reflect the return code template you currently have as it is based on the task creating template code (which is not teh current one)
