Yes, it is possible, just have a column in your table that uniquely identifies each record, in this case probably time. Note that when you installed Data Analytics there is already a table for Eventlogs created, from the time ERP could import those. You can probably best just re-use this.
thanks for your help... but I can't actually find any rule for eventlogs: am I looking in the wrong place?
would the "Key" button be of any help in defining such a rule? if so, I'm afraid it's disabled in my lab server
In my case the unique ID is the couple (device, start date/time). since the device is in the where clause, the time is unique within those results.
No, there is no rule, but the tablestructure is already in the DB, under DBO.EventLogs. You can use this in your import rule.

if I populate that table (maybe defining a linked server and using a SQL rule) I can see the events in a tree-like structure in the inventory, though it's not exactly what I wanted: I wanted to populate a custom part of the inventory, possibly getting the data directly from an external data source (via ODBC)
