I have seen phone systems that use the pxe boot file option to provide configuration files to the voip phones. Typically there are alternate options that can be set so PXE can continue to work.
In the console there is an icon that looks like 4 disks. Click that to create bootmedia (cd or usb) for you to use with provisioning.
Yes, our phones should be able to co-exist with our imaging solution... But it's been deemed a "low priority" since we can boot off of media instead of PXE, and I've been unable to get any of our network folks to look into the issue.
Thanks for pointing out the bootmedia option in the console, I'll look into it.

FYI, Bootmedia.wim will need the same NIC drivers you added to the standard boot.wim as well.
