Thank you for the suggestion. I'm now running 7.3.146, but still not getting the escape key to register.
Not to cloud the issue, but the same thing happens on our MC9090 devices with WM6.5. It works flawlessly on the MC9090s with Windows CE running TelnetCE version 7.0.12.
Try the following:
- Cleanboot the device
- On the terminal, Start the preloaded TelnetCE Client, without any configuration.
- Click on Options->View->Emulation Keyboard
On the on-screen emulation keyboard press `Diags` key
Press `K` for Keyboard Test
4. Now press the ESC key
If TelnetCE sitll doesn't responce with a scancode, I will advice you to create a support case with Wavelink.
Well I didn't follow your exact directions, but they got me going in the right direction. I have a mobile control software installed on the device and I decided to remove it to clean things up a bit. Sure enough, after removal the ESC key once again worked in the Keyboard Test. Reinstalling the control software broke it again.
So the software is somehow binding the ESC key and not letting it be used in a terminal session. This same software is installed and works on Windows CE devices, so some combination of the two (WM6.5 and control software) is where the issue lies. I will now trace this with the manufactures of the control software. Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
