Hello, I don't see in the Supported platforms Landing documents the Windows Embedded.

      Does LANDesk 9.5 SP1 suppports ?

      • Windows Embedded POSReady 2009
      • Windows Embedded POSReady 7
      • Windows Embedded 8 Industry

And if Yes, is there any functionnalities that are not supported?

      Thanks

I also need to know which Embedded platforms are supported.  Further, is LANDesk Antivirus 9.5 compatible with Embedded OSes?

            http://help.landesk.com/Topic/Index/ENU/LDMS/9.5/Content/ISV/hp_t_thin_client_management.htm

Supported HP Thin Client OS platforms

LANDesk Management Suite version 9.5 offers the specific features listed below each of the following supported HP Thin Client platforms.

Windows Embedded Standard 7 Enterprise (WES 7)

            • Standard LANDesk agent configuration (Inventory, Queries)
            • Remote Control
            • Software Distribution
            • Patch Management
            • Write Filter Management

Windows Embedded Standard 09 Enterprise (WES 09)

            • Standard LANDesk agent configuration (Inventory, Queries)
            • Remote Control
            • Software Distribution
            • Patch Management
            • Write Filter Management

            HP ThinPro (Ubuntu)

            • Standard LANDesk agent configuration (Inventory, Queries)

We have only tested on HP hardware so other vendor hardware "Might' work but it is not tested on them and it might take some work to get it work as there is on standarization with WES OS's between vendors.

We have done no testing and offer no support on Windows Embedded 8 at this time.

Also if you want LANDesk to control the writefilter and temp drive on initial agent deployment you have to push the Embedded agent(s) you can not used any other agent installation method.

Can you control on the Embedded agent what the write filter is doing, as well as change the temp location before the scipt runs it against an embeded device?  For example, a Wyse device has a temp space by default of about 25MB only, nearing that size will break the install. It's easier to change the temp space to c:\ from z:\ to give it plenty of room.   Also, in an environment where people are not using the write filter, turning it on or off causes a reboot on the mahcine.  Please let me know if pssible, thank you.

Almost all embedded clients have a z: drive of 25 mb.

If you push the "Windows Embedded Standard agent" we will temporarily remap the drive to c: for you.

If you used a different agent or agent delivery method that would have to be done you before hand.

That embedded agent push does the following:

                1. will check for the write filters and turn them off.
                2. reboot the device. as it has to be reboot for the write filter change is recognized by the OS.
                3. Change the temp to c:
                4. Install the agent
                5. turn the filters back on (if we turned them off)
                6. change temp back to z:
                7. Reboot the client

Device is now managed(assuming agent install succeed(if it failed we would need to troubleshoot failure same as you would a "normal" agent)).

                  Hello,

Can we have an "Official" statement on which Embedded product is supported or not and which product is not officialy suppported but support will be provided with best effort?

And please, update the Supported Plateform document
