It used to be that I just edited ldappl3 and I could read registry information. LANDesk has been working smoothly and doing its own thing for a while and I have been out of the loop, so I apologize if this is a question already answered. I go to Manage Software List - Inventory - Custom Data - Registry items and I add a new item: HKLM Key: Software\microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall Value = Symantec Endpoint Protection Attribute Name: Symantec I publish it via the Make available to clients. I can then run the old dbrepair.exe to view and/or clean metadata and I see the fields/data in there. But on the client, it is a no go. I do a full sync scan. Nothing under Custom Data or Symantec.
Go to Configure>Services>Inventory Tab and select unknown items. From there, allow the new item you want to see.
Blocked items is empty and block items is unchecked.
Don't forget to click on "make available to clients" in the "Manage Software List" plug-in. That will create a new ldappl for the clients to download and will let them know to pick up the new data.
You could check the ldappl3.ini file in the ldlogon folder on the core to verify that your new item is in there (just like in the old days).
