It seems as though the agent is calling MS OneNote and that is what is causing the print job to kick off.
Why is LD binding to OneNote? Users who do not have OneNote installed have NO issue like the one described, yet the majority of my company has OneNote and experience the issue.
Do you happen to have this problem on computers that you are using RDP to connect to? I have this exact problem since upgrading to LDMS 9.5 SP1.
Scenario to replicate issue:
1: RDP to device which you have shared local printers with.
2. From the console initiate a full inventory scan on the device you are remotely connected to.
3. Close Onenote because it just popped up for no reason on the source device
I simply uncheck the option to connect local printers during the RDP connection.
Are you using Endpoint Security? If so there is an update that corrects the issue with RDP trying to print on your local machine. Contact support for the update.
We aren't seeing this solely on machines that are used via RDP. However we do have quite a few home based employees that use VM's and desktops in the offices.
OneNote does open randomly throughout the day and it is causing many headaches for our executives who just signed off on the major $$$ purchase of LD. I really hope there is an update soon that will address this...
No we are not using Endpoint Security. We deploy Sophos in our environment.
Still an unanswered question... Anyone from Landesk willing to assist here. It seems as though there are others out there with this issue and it seems to be related to SP1.
If you haven't already, get it logged with support directly. This way you will get a definitive response and immediate notification of any fix. This is primarily a peer support forum so while we can do some things for items like this a support call would be worth doing as well.
