Can a 2008 File server be a domain rep?

My first thought as I start setting up Multicast domain reps on different subnets on our WAN is that I want a machine that is on more than it is off.  So setting up multiple machines on a subnet increases the ods that the machine is on.  But we dont do anything yet in regards to power management in LANDesk and many locations are still old school, turn of computer at the end of the day.

So then I think "Hey, each location has a file server and some have file servers AND DCs, and they are always on!"  Can I install server agent on a server and then specify that server to be a multicast domain representative for a workstation package deployment?  Or is is this someting wired into the workstation agent and not the server agent.
