    Inventory Scanner not running

      Hello, on some of my 8.8 clients with Symantec Endpoint Protection installed, the Inventory scanner will not run from the program group or comamnd line. However, the local scheduled inventory scanner runs without issue. The ldiscn32.log file is not updated when I run the Inventory Scanner manually. I've checked the Symantec logs and can't find anything blocking the scanner. Anyone else seeing this or have any ideas?

          It's going to be down to user context.


          Start-up and command-line run in the logged-in user's context, while local scheduler launching inventory will run in LOCAL SYSTEM context.


          So you may need to relax Endpoint somewhat towards "mere users" potentially.
