I would recommend using LANDesk Patch Manager to manage your patches rather than relying on Windows Update.
Like Dave says, patching is better using Patch Manager, but if you can't use that and absolutely must use windows update, take a look at AutoIT. It is a handy little free scripting tool as it also gives you the ability to script the clicking of a button or a keystroke sequence.
