what exatly are you looking to get out of the query? Just a role and all it's members or a member and all their roles?
The most common way is to create a new shortcut group within webaccess or console and publish this to the specific role.
Within this shortcutgroup you could add any query you want that should be shared for this role.
We would like to be able to pull a specific role (supervisor) and list all it's members. I was able to pull the members and all their roles but am having trouble figuring out what to use to pull just a specific role to list it's members.
try the following. Built a query based on "System" - "User".
Add the attributes that you like to see from user like "Title". Go to criteria, expand the collection "Roles" and drag the reference "Role" on the criteria. Look here:
Now set the flag "Prompt user to specify value". Save the query and test it. Is it that what you need?
This may help too:
There is a query that will show all tickets for all your roles. You may be able to modify it to show all Roles I'm a member of.
