If you can do this with a SQL query, you should be able to build a custom report to show this
I don't believe this would be possible since there is no historical retention of this information in the DB. Once a device receives a new version of the software there is no retention of the old version. Could be wrong but I don't think it is possible. So you could do this with LANDESK's report writer - Excel. You could export the version totals via CSV and do it in Excel per month.
Under Software/Add Remove Programs/program there is a field that shows when the software was installed. You could use that to see how many installs were done each month.
Or if the software is only installed by a LANDesk task you can look at the LANDesk Management/Software Distribution/History data to get the install date.
Just export he data each month and use Excel to get the totals per month.
