Can you provide more information on the task once it is started. Such as once you start the task does it go into an active state and then back to waiting? Sounds like we have a problem happening in the global scheduler. You can also look in the Global Scheduler logs on the core for more info.
Which version of LDMS are you running? There is a quite a bit of difference between 9.6 and previous versions when it comes to distribution.
Your post prompted me to check Services where I discovered that the LANDesk Scheduler Service was not started. Starting the service cause the scheduled task status to change to Cannot Find Agent. I'm satisfied that this issue is resolved.
