I've created tickets of specific types in JIRA before. I've done this using LPM(Process Manager within ALM). I can update this shortly on how I did it.
Do you have uploaded, how you did this?
Yes any insight into this would be amazing as it seems more and more companies are exploring this option. Or if LANDesk has expertise on this integration what does the Managed Services look like cost wise
We want to integrate JIRA with LANDesk Service Desk. Can you update on how the integration was done by you?
We are in crucial need to have this integration in place. If we could see how you have integrated it will be very beneficial.
Hey everyone, I can provide some instructions I've put together on this. They are not formal but its the setup I used to create a ticket within JIRA and return the link. Please keep in mind Im not a JIRA expert and your setup of JIRA may differ but this is done using Service Desk and Process Manager with a bit of PowerShell to call the JIRA Rest API.
Can you provide me your email address and I'll forward the doc to you until this is approved to post by support?
Thanks SBW, The document was very helpful for having the basic idea how to start the integration. I have successfully created ticket from LANDesk to Jira system using the LPM and power shell script, but i am not getting JIRA link return back to update incident ticket.
I have followed the same steps given by you in the document, but still return Jira link is missing. The only change i have made is to use 'PostIntegrationEvent' rather than 'SendIntegrationEvent' method due to unavailable of the method. Could this be the issue for the return Jira link?
Can you guide me how to identify the missing link.
Giri, PostIntegrationEvent is fine to use. If you've setup the LPM Workflow to send back an event the first thing I would make sure is that its creating a new row in the Event Manager. Events table. SQL Table = EV_Event but you can also see it in Event Manager component in the Console.
Also, this document here is great for troubleshooting
You'll want to work from #14 on the doc above and move forward.
If you are using PostIntegrationEvent instead of SendIntegrationEvent, the Event Manager Windows service will need to be running to process the queue entries.
SBW, I made all the configuration given by you as per the document. When i am running the powershell script from ALM, i am missing '$fields.key' return value. It is always giving 'Null'.
Can you help me out to identify what is the issue with powershell script. I hope this could problem with the script. Below is the lines i used in the powershell script to get the Jira ticket return.
$fields = $reply.Content | convertfrom-json
$jiraTicketlink = $url+$fields.key
Thanks in advance.
What I would do then if I was you would be to run through that powershell code manually in the ISE environment. Run the Invoke-WebRequest and take a long look at the returned object. Depending on your JIRA version the API may have changed but typically it will return information about the JIRA ticket thats created in that response. You may just have to look through the child objects in that response.
