You can have multiple instances of ConnectPro. You will just have to adjust the host profile to point the devices to which ConnectPro server you would want them to connect to.
So I can have it installed multiple times, and make a change to one instance, requiring me to restart the service for only one instance and not impacting the others that are installed? Just want to be clear.
That is correct.
You can have a ConnectPro server installed at location A, B, and C. Each has a separate device inventory connecting through them to your host. The ConnectPro Server at Location B needs to do a restart. You can restart location B without Location's A and C being affected.
Thanks for responding and now I wonder if I should have been more clear.
All installations are on the same VM/Server.
So Server 1 has 3 installations of ConnectPro, each serving it's own distribution center. There is one for Chicago, New York, and Houston. This way, if I make a change in Chicago, I only have to restart the services for the Chicago install and do not impact NYC or Houston.
The way our company has been doing it has been w/ all 3 sites on one install, so a change with one is a restart for all 3.
I really appreciate your time/attention.
This has not been tested. Normally, one install can handle connections from different locations and / or to different host servers. To make sure that only one is restarting, it would be best to have them on separate machines or separate VM.
Ok. Are there any plans in the future to target out restarting the individual hosts instead of having to "Restart Server" for all hosts?
