Remote console install hangs on .net 4 on Win8.1

I'm trying to upgrade my 9.5 SP3 remote console to 9.6 on Windows 8.1 x64, and the installer hangs on the step Installing Microsoft .NET Framework 4. I tried looking at the log and it says:

      ...LANDeskSoftware960\DotNetFX\dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe /q /log /norestart C:\ProgramData\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\Install\9.60\Log\dotnetfx4.log But that log file isn't created.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

          I figured it out.

.NET 4 is part of Windows 8.1, so the installer may have been getting hung up on that. I found the skip= option for the installer and was able to make this skip the framework installation:

          setup.exe skip="NetFX40Installation"

The rest of the console and SP1 installed correctly after that. Is 8.1 not a supported OS for the 9.6 Remote Console?
