A large percentage of Client Machines, specifically Mac, are missing the the LDAP Name field info so the Primary Owner Column defaults to the Short Name field instead. We would prefer to keep things as consistent and see the CN, OU, DC parameters for all machines if possible. What would be preventing this info from being collected during a scan?
did the users login with local accounts?
In addition to what Frank mentioned, are the users using the domain before their login id, ie domain\username, when logging in? I've seen this on my Mac and Windows clients. The primary owner field is displaying the short name.
Most of them should not be using domain\username to login. Our macs are bound to our domain and only need to use their username in the username field but they are definitely not logging in with a local account and as stated above the primary owner field is displaying the short now. If you drill down into the invetory to the LDAP User /primary owner section it only shows the Short Name info and nothing else.
We have had an issue with the ldapwhoami.dll once, while upgrading the agents. The issue was finally resolved by replacing the ldapwhoami.dll in the ldlogon folder, we got the new .dll from LD support. What happens when you run the ldapwhoami.exe on a affected computer and a non affected ? Although it would be strange only affecting mac computers, you can check difference in the versions of the .dll on the clients
