The easiest way I have found is install psexec on the core. Then use Console Extender and add a command
Command Line: \\<Computer.Device Name> cmd
Now you just right click on the device and select this action
As long as you have permissions you should be able to launch a cmd to any computer.
Take a look at Rhyous' Support Tools. They are a great optional add-on in which you can define right-click menu items that run either on local or remote on the client, supporting multi-select
This works great!
Only issue I have now is that When i create the command in the management console it doesn't seem to appear on everyone elses management console unless I create the command under asset management. However the asset management offers an extra field called "query" and I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to put in there?
To share the console extensions we exported "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Managed Planet\Console Extender\Plugins" from the registry, and created a distribution package to deploy the .reg file to everyone with the management console installed.
what/how did you use to create the distribution package and deploy it?
We exported the key from the registry, then created a batch distribution package in LANDesk to add the registry changes.
The following removes all of the current plugins on the target machine, then pulls in the registry values from the .reg that was exported.
reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Managed Planet\Console Extender\Plugins" /f
regedit /s Consoleplugins.reg
