Was this right after SP1? I would try running streams against the management suite directory, then rebuilding the agent and install again make sure thats not getting in the way
before you extract it, right click, select properties. If there is an 'UNBLOCK' button, click that then ok.
run from an elevated command prompt streams.exe -s -d "c:\program files\landesk"
of course change the path to your MS folder if needed
I'm not familiar w/ streams...and honestly, the description on the sysinternals site along with your instructions isn't really clearing anything up for me.
My issue is with 1 client only. The agent install works fine elsewhere. This client hadn't checked-in in 2 months or so. We had installed SP1 ~4 months ago.
We'll be upgrading to SP2 sometime in the next month, fwiw.
Okay i misunderstood/misread that it was more than one. it wouldnt hurt to try an uninstallwinclient /forceclean especially if its just one machine
So, I tried the uninstallwinclient /forceclean. Then reinstalled again. Same errors.
I believe I have a 2nd client w/ similar behaviors too. I've been unable to do much testing on this second machine but the symptoms are similar. Getting error code 3 when trying to run ldiscn32.
I'll try the client reinstallation steps on this 2nd machine when I'm able.
Thoughts in the meantime other than reimaging?
procmon might give some insight... i guess it depends on what the ROI is on the time you invest working it out for 1-2 machines. Might just be faster to reload the OS as its a not a widespread issue
