Also will software distribution capabilities cease to function? Thanks!
Will AV be disabled on all of the workstations?
Wow so AV will continue to work indefinitely without a license? Do you know if it will continue to get new DAT updates from the internet if that how it was configured?
There is misleading information in the responses.
When a license expires you DO NOT lose access to the console. Access is only prevented if your core server has failed to activate or if the license you have really is a time limited license (such as a subscription or trial).
Most systems comprise three types of license:
1 - Perpetual - You own this and it never expires. Could be LDMS or the stand-alone components or Patch/Security Suite
2 - Maintenance - These have an expiry date. Once expired it means you are not entitled to support or future versions. It DOES NOT stop you using the product
3 - Subscription - This entitles you to content updates (patch, security etc.). Once expired you get to keep the content you already have but you will not be able to download any new content. AV as an example continues to run but you will not get any new virus definitions.
There are some exception to these rules and I see that sometimes in education where the use of the whole product is leased/rented/subscription. In those cases there may be a real expiry on the non-subscription components.
