LDMS 9.6 SP2 - Advance Agent not installing from GPO

    blykins Rookie

New LANDesk user here, so I may be behind the curve a little bit. With that being said, we are attempting to deploy the Advance Agent to over 1000 users at 5 different locations by pushing the MSI through a GPO entry. However, after several iterations of the policy the agent never makes it to the machine. I know that the MSI installer is good, as I have manually tested it on several machines to ensure that the connection isn't being blocked by something trivial (i.e. Windows Firewall, etc...).

Has anyone else had this kind of trouble since SP2 was released? Maybe we should've waited until the first patch of SP2 to update...

      Any help is appreciated!

One of the most common reasons is name resolution from remote sites. When you create the advance agent is uses a default http location for the agent installation .EXE. You need to be 100% certain that will resolve from the target clients.

If you are sure that should work, then take a look at the advance agent installation log on one of the failed clients. I think that is under windows\temp by default. It will explain what it is doing and where it might be failing.
