In this article you can find the registry key used to change the background image : Enabler Custom Registry Keys
Also on newer enabler versions you may need to leverage the additional registry values mentioned here : https://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-32391

Nick, I think he's looking to change the individual icons of the shortcuts in the Avalanche Enabler, and not the Enabler background.
In the past, if I wanted to create a custom icon for the shortcuts in Avalanche I would actually just compile a small program that would just launch the program that I actually wanted to run. I'd point the Avalanche shortcut at my small application so that it would pull the icon for that program, and then my program would actually handle the launching of the underlying desired application. Using this approach, I was able to put individual customers' logos as the icon for TelnetCE. I wish the process was easier to handle, like it is in AppCenter, but this is the best i've been able to come up with.
I did see another user attempting to do this using the Create Shortcut / AVASHORTCUT feature of the Avalanche Package Builder, but I don't think they had much success with it.
thanks for the solution.
It sounds very tricky but i´m calmed that there is no other simple option because I´m searching about 1 hour for a solution.
jmdermody has to be right. I´m searching for a solution for the shortcuts and not the Avalanche background.
But this is also a good example and i will try it out.
