    Problem with push delivery method

    F.B Rookie

      Hi,

I'm on Landesk management suite 9.6. I'm trying to deploy a software with the push delivery method. In the property of the task I choose "Push" and "Download and execute".

My task run with success. However, on my computer nothing changed. I don't even found my sources in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\sdmcache"  folder.

      Any help?

      Thanks

          Hi,

is there a sdclientxxx.log in "C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\Data" where xxx is the task ID?

Can you additionally check the PolicySync.exe.log under "ProgramData\LANDESK\Log". At the time you did the push, there must be an entry like "Run PolicySync.exe /enforce".

          Regards

          Christian

            Hi,

            I checked in files sdclient_task254.log and PolicySync.exe.log.

Ok, if there is a sdclient_task.log, the policy sync worked and the software distribution started. Can you post the content of the log? Or did you find any errors in the log?

              Kind regards

From your sdclient.log I can see the test.cmd Returns "0" which means for the LDMS it runs successful. I would say something isn't correct in your batch. Did you try to run the test.cmd on a client in the local System account? Does it install the software?

Here is a very good document,  how to built batch scripts:

the batch is actually empty as it purpose was only to test the "download and execute option" in task property.

Our problem is that it doesn't download the batch on the client but instead it's running it from source.

                    Thanks

                      Hi,

I tested it here with the built-in batch "Clear preferred Servers" package. The file is downloaded to the "sdmcache\landesk\files\" as expected.

It seems, the batch file you test is located directly under the LDClient folder...here is your log output:

                      C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient>call \\srvstkder.irtjv.local\Distribution_Landesk\test.cmd
