    OS Deployment tab freeze






      I have just upgraded Landesk Management Suite from version 8.5 to 8.8 + SP1.



      When I try to go to Tools -> Distibution -> OS Deployment



      Landesk Console is Freezed and nothing happens ...  and then after one minute it's closing just like that.  



      Any idea ?

          Have you uninstalled and reinstalled your console?  Also, do any of your OSD scripts have special characters in their name such as apostrophe's?

            It happens on every console.



            Indeed I have copied the osd scripts from the previous version but now I have removed them from



            ... LANDesk\ManagementSuite\scripts folder to see if it helps and leave only the default ones but it didn't help.



            Then I've found out the following errors in ihe event log:



            Event Type: Error

            Event Source: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting

            Event Category: None

            Event ID: 1000



            Faulting application console.exe, version, stamp 4750023f, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.4062, stamp 46264680, debug? 0, fault address 0x0000bee7.

              This is a problem that we have been seeing due to the provisioning tables not being created successfully in the database.


              First check in \Program Files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite and see if you have a file called provisioning.xml.  If you do try running CoreDBUtil.exe /xml=provisioning.xml and choose the option Build Components.  Warning: Do not click Reset Database because that will delete all information in your database.


              If you don't have the provisioning.xml file please log a call with support and we can get that file to you and then you can run the coredbutil command.  I believe that this is the most likely scenario.


              If you do have the file, but it doesn't correct the issue you can call in and we'll make sure your file has the correct information in it.  I really doubt this will be the scenario.
