    LANDesk ServiceDesk - SQL Availability.

    manicmog Rookie

We are currently running ServiceDesk 7.8.1, this is connecting to a SQL 2008 database server that is using Microsoft Failover Cluster services for high availability. This works great.

The database server is being migrated to a new virtual platform that does not support Microsoft Cluster Services.

We are looking at using SQL 2008 Mirroring to help with high availability. I'm struggling to find any documentation or guide about this.

How does the web and app frameworks automatically connect to the mirror database if the principal SQL server fails ? Is their a connection string for this ?

Is there any documentation or guides on this ? what is the impact of a failover ? etc...

Any help or advice gratefully received.
