I am new to the LANDesk Management Suite and am trying to capture an image from OSD using a simple script using PXE boot. I am using LANDesk Management Suite 9.5 SP2. From the PC I am trying to capture I am able to get to the OS Deployment Script Menu screen and I can select my script from the core server. After selecting my script the screen clears back to the Windows PE screen and no further activity happens, not even any error messages. There are no log files generated, either. I am not doing anything special at this point. I did define my core server as a preferred server. I also tried doing the same process through Provisioning with the same result. I am sure I am missing something very basic.
Sorry - Sometimes I do get the following in the log folder:
"test","OK",0,0:00:00,3/8/2016 1:48:53 PM,3/8/2016 1:48:53 PM,"WINPE, TIMEOUT=1800"
"test","ERR_Fail",-2147481753,0:00:26,3/8/2016 1:48:54 PM,3/8/2016 1:49:20 PM,"diskpart /s X:\LDClient\rmvol.txt"
; "Job Complete","0 Done","1 Failed","0 Off","0 Unknown"
I'd start by opening X:\LDClient\rmvol.txt and taking every command in there and running them through diskpart one by one. See which command fails first, and start troubleshooting from there.
After working with Tech Support at LANDesk we discovered that the Certification required to run the capture/deployment client via PXE was missing in the boot.wim file. OnceI included the certificate provided by LANDesk I was able to run both captures and also deploy PC images without any other issues. My thanks goes out to the LANDesk technical support team in assisting me with this issue.
