Query to show all users logging onto a device in a day?

    Rookie

      Hi,

Could anyone tell me if there's a way of generating a query to show all users logging onto a device (all our Windows 7 devices in particular) in a single day?

      Thanks

Hello Phil, out of the box the inventory component doesnt gather a full audit history of logins in a way that you could query this way.

Though some login information is captured and a primary owner is determined based on that information I expect that based on your question you want to answer the question: "Tell me everyone who logged into X machine(s) and when".

The system event log of the devices in question is a great place to look. Also, this is a valid use case and so you should submit an enhancement request if you would like to see this functionality in the future.

There could be some more creative ways to get this but it would be custom work. Either looking through the registry and doing custom inventory calls or using alerting to scrape the event log.

          Thanks
