We use LANDesk management suite 8.7.1.
We just migrated our core server to a new hardware. When we finished, we found we could not open Configure | Services. When we try to open the Configure | Services, nothing happened. Sometimes a popup window appears, says "Can't open the registry on the LANDESK.". We have no idea about this.
The old core server is Windows 2000 Server + SP4, and the new core server is Windows 2003 Server + SP2.
We set the SAME computer name and IP address.
migrate as the following steps:
backup patch files
backup package files
quit the old core server from our domain, and delete the entity in the "Computer" list on the domain controller
name the new core server computer name and the ip address same as the old one
join the new core server to the domain
install core server
restore all backup files
patch the core server sp3
