Workspaces are not a separate download for LD2016. They are part of the main installation.
What are the errors you get? Perhaps we can help with that.

I have updated the document so the links work. However, as frank.wils mentioned, it is included in 2016 and doesn't require any additional installation.
The error you are seeing could be happening for a few different reasons. If you are using BridgeIT with LDMS (usually at CoreServer/My.BridgeIT) you should log in with your normal credentials that you would log into LDMS or Windows with.
If you continue to have problems, I would suggest that you open a case with Support so we can make sure it gets resolved.
