there are several potential problems you may encounter with new and imported items for your Service Catalog. The most common are:
1. Check if your Service Catalog index is built over night. You can check this in the Console - Administration - Knowledge Management Administration. Check in Knowledge Settings the latest Queue Entries if Status is Completed. (Sorry, screenshot is in German but the icons should be the same).
2. Check if your latest imported items are marked as: Business Service, In Service Catalog and (if so wanted) Published to All. If you cannot find these attributes on the window, you can add them to the window in Window Manager. (Sorry again for the German language but the attributes should have a similar caption and position). You can use the first two Booleans during your import to mark them to appear in your Service Catalog and as Business Service. Just use the "Default Values" function in your Import Mapping (rightclick your main item on the right side of the import and choose Default Values). If you do not want to publish them automatically to all your users, leave the "publish to all" blank.
3. Check in Service Catalog if your new items are sorted into the Catalog Hierarchy and are published to Users/Groups/Roles for that is necessary so that your users can see new items. You can check that in the Console - Catalog Management - Service Catalog. If your import does not sort them into the categories they belong to, then you have to do that manually. After sorting them, you can publish the new items.
Then you either have to wait until your Service Catalog Index has been automatically been refreshed (normally once every night) or rightklick on the Publishing-Tab and select "Rebuild Sevice Catalog Index".
Hope I could set you on the right track!
Just to make sure, are the items showing up in the backend Console?
If so I would figure one of Andreas' suggestions above will fix it for you.
If not, did you set yourself up a logfile when you imported your Excel items? That will give you an idea of why the items are currently not showing in the system.
