    Content Replication Copying Files Repeatedly?

    JQuaglietta Apprentice

Looking for some feedback to determine if we have an actual problem with Content Replication.  We're running 9.6 SP2.  Recently we had our Networking Team contact us since they detected high bandwidth traffic between our LDMS Core and one of our downstream Preferred Servers.  Bandwidth throttling is set to 60%.

We've been checking the Task History for Content Replication and the logs for the various sources all start off where after "Building source file list" there's several entries for "Copying files" (see example below).  However, when I check the LDHashDir folder in the target directory on the Preferred Server, it does not show that those files were actually copied.  Are the "Copying files" entries in the log not actual file copy actions?  I compared a couple of other LDHashDir folders and noticed that, for example, in our Patch directory the LDHashDir has the same number of hash.xml files as there are actual patch files in the folder.  However, with the Drivers2 folder referenced below (that's the replicated directory of drivers we use for HII), there's only a few even though there's thousands of total driver files.  Are the hash.xml files supposed to remain in the LDHashDir permanently after a file is copied?  If so, is it because they are missing that Content Replication is trying to copy everything again?

In the below example, the 7710NIC folder has been in the source location for some time, but every Preferred Server log for that replication task starts off with copying those files every time it runs.  The 5.5 hour run time as well is similar to others.  Usually, they're around 4 hours.  We just can't confirm if that's just the time to verify or if it's actually copying everything again, but not adding the hash.xml files to the LDHashDir.

      Any info would be appreciated.

      Thanks!
