Upgrade to SP2.
Make sure to update your clients.
IF the issue should still persist (despite SP2 Core + Client-side), then open a ticket with support (and be prepared to send us a copy of your DB + a day's worth of scans or so) - we can give more detailed instructions on how to do as needed.
But SP2 should take care of most of these things.

Just an FYI. I am running into this same problem ata customer's site. I will get a backup of the DB and some scans ready after I submit a ticket.
update to SP3?
For 8.7 this helps: Troubleshooting database exception error caused by inventory scans
Another hint if the inventory service stops:
- on core open in LDMS Console Configure - Service - Inventory - Advanced settings...
- change the "DB Error Recovery Tries" to 10000 and the "Max Scan File Size" to 25000000 (25MB)

Here is what you should be looking for. Basically System Technology is when we detect you are using a VM or AMT or DRAC (see list below from database). This will show up in the console side in inventory under System Capability. Down below you can see an excerpt from a scan file where my technology name is VMWARE_VM. You will be looking for that specific line in the output of the scan file. According to the error in the Event Viewer that line is showing up blank or with another name that is not in the below list.
Its a known issue and fixed in 9.0.
To resolve the issue you would want to run a SYNC scan and to prevent the inventory service from turning off open configure | services | Inventory | Advanced Setting | Set DB Error Recovery Tries to 10000.
