There is no 'Active' Inventory attribute in LANDESK. The best you can get is to query on devices that reported in with scans that day, but that depends on the configured interval of your various scans if that makes sense.
If this information is important to you, I recommendd you take a look at the Marxtar State Notifier plugin for LANDESK. It will not only show you which devices are on at any specific time you want, but will also provide you with historic data on the state of your devices (and more).
I was afraid this may be something that Landesk couldn't do as is... Thanks for the info, I'll look into the Marxtar plugin and see if that would work for us or not.
It depends on what you're after.
Other than background discovery (which is the "on demand" check to see if a device is reachable), we generally don't poke around the network too much to constantly listen if devices are on. If you have a 50,000+ device environment, that can get *VERY* chatt & clogged up fast.
You can use a date function (such as "today") in queries / reports, if that helps you. So for instance ...
"COMPUTER"."Last Updated by Inventory Server" > "GetDate()-30"
... would show / query for devices that have been updated by the inventory server in the last 30 days "from the current date".
Depending on what you're after (and "seeing devices on the network" tends to be good enough as "updated by inventory server" since that includes mini scans as well, usually), that should do the trick, no?
