Download their driver zip https://sgcdn.startech.com/005329/media/sets/SMSC-LAN7500_Drivers/SMSC_LAN7500.zip (that link was from here USB to Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter | Network Adapters Cards | StarTech.com ) specific models shouldn't matter, they mostly use the same chipset anyway. Go into SMSC_LAN7500.zip\Windows\64bit and inject those drivers into your x64 boot WIM using dism.
Should work after that
Is the USB port USB3 or USB2? You may need to load the xhost controller or USB3 hub drivers into PE image.
They are USB 3.0 - all Surface Pro devices, from the original in 2013 to the present have used the USB3 spec.
JP, I added the Lan drivers but it still did not boot to PXE. Must have to only use Microsofts dongle.
However if I look at the properties of my Bare Metal Device it changed the Mac address and IP to my Landesk console Computer.(Just wanted to add a little something. every Bare Metal Device I added had the Console computers Mac address and IP but still Pxe booted so that must be normal.)
BD It's USB3 and I did adding the drivers in Winpe using DISM.
Not sure that's normal, I wonder what your column set looks like because the inventory should show the MAC from the dongle not your console....
So did you get your Surface pxe booting yet?
Maybe you need to disable secure boot to get the other usb nice to work?
