Assuming you're talking about software distribution for the LANDesk Management Suite ? If you can confirm, we can move the thread.
Responding (for the time being) assuming that this is the case.
1 - Please specify what version you're on & what patch level you're at. That helps in general.
2 - Generally speaking, you'll have application specific exit codes. If you're installing MSI's, those tend to be MSI exit codes which a quick google will find you something to look for.
Here's some to help you get started:
3 - If it's a vendor-specific EXE ... check the vendor's forum / site.
There's a lot of "it depends" type stuff here - so if you could share more information (what product / version you're using / what you're trying to do / what you're trying to schedule out), that'd be useful to help you. If you're trying to schedule out agents, that's for instance quite different to a software package.

5 - If you're getting started, go for basics first. Use open HTTP shares rather than UNC (removes potential of access being a problem) for instance. Start small & go from there.
At the moment, your statement amounts to "I have something in some version and it doesn't work" - we can't really help out much with that .
