LANDESK is gradually phasing out the full console as it moves toward the use of Workspaces but for task that require database manipulation, direct connection to the database will be faster than something sitting in-between.
I'd suggest you review what is available via the web interfaces to gauge whether or not you do need the full console, but if the full console is required for certain admin related tasks then consider who really does need the access and/or consider a 'jump' box where admins access it via RDP or something similar so that there is not direct database access required except from that particular box.

So far i only see separate documents
Just to confirm as you posted this in the Service Desk area, were you referring to Service Desk or Management Suite?
