did you assign a domain user to the packages? If so, did the device already a join domain before your Software Distribution Action? You can check the sdclienthandler.log in the ldprovision folder on the client for deeper troubleshooting.
thank you for fast reply!.
- yes domain user is assigned to the package
- yes device is joined to the domain
- the package can be installed/runs when scheduled directly using software delivery
SDClientHandler.log log does nto show much, however ldProvision.log shows the following on this package:
2016-11-29 07:51:13(4828-156) ldProvision.exe:Failed to download (c:\ldprovisioning\SDClientHandler.sig)
2016-11-29 07:51:13(4828-156) ldProvision.exe:Informational: No sig file downloaded.
Any other idea?

Software Distribution and Software Distribution in Provisioning sounds the same but aren't, unfortunately. Some of the feature like prerequisites works fine in Software Distribution but are completely ignored, if you do this through a distribute software action in provisioning. I'm not sure if this feature "Run as specific user" is supported in provisioning template. If I found some time, I can test this. Maybe meanwhile someone else knows it ad-hoc...:-)
