This may be an odd question, but here it goes anyway. We currently have a Service Catalog on our IT page that lists all of our services, some of them do not have request forms attached, they are mainly just an info page. I was wondering if there would be a way to somehow put them into the service desk catalog and when someone selects that item it just shows the information about the service? Below is a link to one of the "services" that don't have a form http://www.umt.edu/it/services/accounts/cas.php Any ideas would be welcome, we are trying to move away from the service catalog that is not housed in Service Desk
This can be achieved quite easily.
You might have to make some adjustments to accommodate your existing configuration but here is how you can do it.
1) Identify or create a new field in your Service that you wish this form information to be stored and set it as HTML.
2) Create an End User service window where this field is visible.
3) Set view rule so that your end users see this window (additional rules can be set if required)
4) When creating these Information Only Services, do not set a Lifecycle, this will hide the Request button so the request form will not be opened.
