the easiest way is to use GPO! Otherwise follow the link from Paul.
Hi Thanks for the reply guys,
this is out of the question, how do i use the command that you are giving me, honestly I'm really dumb about this stuff, the only thing I know in Landesk is to remote access computers, manually edit local users and groups, and a while ago i learn how to change all the admin password by following the linkk that Axel gave me
Im really sorry for the trouble can you guide me??
and also in the other discussion that i posted,
I really appreciate your help guys,
it's a bit difficult without the knowledge about your environment. . .
- Do you use ActiveDirectory (AD)?
- Which version of LANDesk do you use?
- Whick client OS you use, Vista, XP or W2K?
- . . .
If you've AD it's very easy (and secure) to change (harmonize) the local users and groups with a GPO! If a client is started the GPO makes the settings (and if someone changed the settings manually it will be overwritten by GPO).
Yes I also use Active directory but my knowledge is not wide.
Landesk version 184.108.40.206
Client OS is XP
How do I use this GPO, can you teach me what to change or edit? I have checked the GPO in our AD and it has several GPO object, I think I need to create another object, because i cant edit the existing objects because it wont be standard for our company.
Take a look at this link for information:
This has a step by step on how to configure the GPO.
However, since you don't have a great deal of experience in LANDesk or GPO and in the case of GPOs some already exist I would advise you speak to whoever is respnsible for those GPOs first otherwise you may clash with them or they may find your GPO and delete it. If you are in total control of everything then go for it but you need to get some training on LANDesk for certain otherwise you are going to struggle

In the meantime Microsoft published some more info's too:
A great (german speaking) page:
A O'Reilly doc about the "old" policy editor and creation of ADM files:
Thanks for the reply, i tried to browse some website, and i was able to get some vbscripting, but it did not fix everything i wanted, but i was able to get information on each script and put it all together. I manage to delete all all the local accounts and leave the build in accounts by creating and using a script, and then some of the built in admin accounts are still named administrator, i cant find other solution but to set it on the Group policy to set the name, then the problem now is i need to change the password of all built in account, the idea that came to me is to, use landesk, and set a scheduled change password for all the same admin account, but the problem is that what if other user dont have landesk? ( because landesk was just implemented lately)
hmmm... do you guys think that it would be better to solve the problem by just using the GPO and script alone??
(main problem now is to change the password using vbs)
and another thing, where should I concentrate GPO and scripting or Landesk??
