Have there been changes to the local network? New switches or hubs swapped out? Find out what the port is set to where the machine to be imaged is sitting. Is it set to auto or forced 100/full? See if port settings have been changed recently. You said the computers were in conference rooms. Make sure someone hasn't tossed a 10MB HUB in the mix...
I mainly suspect the network because I am understanding you to say that the machines haven't changed and the Image source hasn't changed, so that leaves the network.
try to change your startrom.0 file...
Thanks Axel. Unfortunately changing the startrom.0 file did not have the intended effect. Imaging speed is still extremely slow.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. There have been no network changes. In fact, I can plug Lenovo laptops and HP workstations into the same ethernet cable and there is no delay or long wait time. The problem is only on these Acnodes machines.
So, that makes me think that you've got a driver problem.
PXE startrom.0 is only used to get the PE image onto the machine -- then the PE image boots, finds the image tool and image file(s), and does its thing.
If the PE image contains messed up NIC and/or storage drivers, it will go slow.
