Service Desk and Asset Manager use the same base installer, so you do not need to download the installer separately for each product.
As far as setup, I would advise you check out the online documentation for Asset Management which can be found below:
https://help.ivanti.com/ld/help/en_US/LDSD/10.0/Default.htm#015 Prebuilt Content/AssetManagement.htm?Highlight=asset management
There are some Design Transfer XML files to import content into an existing database but assuming you can get that content to install without errors will depend on how your Configuration Management objects may have changed from what DT scripts are expecting; I for sure had to do some modifications to my existing system so that they would import OK.
Also there is an issue, even after import whereby the Asset Manager workspace doesn't appear in Workspaces. I had to run a script I got from Ivanti to fix this (publishing) so I could see the workspace. I tried the same script on another installation though and it didn't work and haven't had time to try and figure out why yet.
I will try installing the XML files. I will let you know the outcome. I will also check with Ivanti if I need to download the script as well for my installation.
Thanks a lot sir! I do appreciate all your help.
I will try to create a separate installation just for Asset Manager and go from there. Thanks for all your help!
I do have another question. How were you able to activate Asset Manager on your existing Service Desk? I noticed that some of the processes under Asset Management are greyed out. Does it need a separate license to activate it?
Your license key (.TPC file) determines this. You can have ITSM or ITAM or both enabled. If you open your TPC file in notepad and look for the <DeploymentScenariosText> section. I've seen various keys in here and it seems licensing do different ways; in one key file I got there was a single "Universal" key, whereas in others I got multiples in that section ie "ITSM_3,ITAM_3,ITAM_2". No idea what the logic is here and may be just a feature of the key generator they are using and how created but anyway you are looking for "Universal" or "ITAM" somewhere in the mix! :0)
