    dell partition

      Hi all,

I'm trying to image a dell 620, which as a 2 partitions, the dell partition and c:\.  For some reason the dell partition is becoming the active partition when booting up after imaging.  I'm using WinPE (imagew ver. 2).  I know there were a couple of commands to resolve this when using DOS scripts, but I don't know if there s a fix for this when using WinPE.  This is the first time it happens.  We are on Landesk 8.8 SP1 by the way.  Any ideas??

      Thanks for your time.

You should delete the system partition.  This is expected results for a machine to boot from the system partition if there has been changes made.  If you have an Enterprise imaging solution there is no need to keep the system partition...

Dell's don't use a system or restore partition, it is a diagnostic partition that can be used to run hardware tests.

Somewhere in the script should be a command that marks the partition as active and it's probaby assuming the first parition (the Dell diag) should be active.

Thanks guys.  I'll take a closer look at the script.
