We are having issues with HEMMS using our Microsoft LifeCam HD3000 cameras. When we open the camera we get a message that no camera is attached. We have to unplug the camera then plug it back in, and then it will work until closed. The denied reports show that it was denied write access. We have tried creating alternate rules using the denied event reports however we keep ending up with the same problem. Has anyone else had this or a similar issue that they were able to correct?
Sounds like the camera has some special software that you run to open the camera that asks the camera itself to update it by writing to a file that a current HEMSS device control policy is blocking. I am sure a custom device policy to allow the camera and its associated software to operate will fix this.
