1. Re: Anyone using HEAT Service Management for Project Management (PPM)?
sunderwood Feb 24, 2016 11:09 AM (in response to Wendi)Hi Wendi,
I have the same question as do you. I need a solution for Project Portfolio Management. This is part of the Service Strategy life cycle of ITIL. Currently we are relying on the Release/Change module in HEAT to provide us list of projects, but this is not really where is belongs. Release/Change processes are part of Service Transition. Although Release has PMBOK like components, it is not meant for project management. It also does not support resources management, business case justification or IT governance very well. I have asked if HEAT is looking to partner with PPM vendors like project.net or Daptiv, but I have not gotten an answer. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for putting the question out there. Glad we are not in the same boat.

randyjessee Feb 24, 2016 1:48 PM (in response to sunderwood)HEAT Software will be adding a native PPM capability to HEAT Service Management in 2016.1 (spring release). This is a new module that supports managing tasks, phases, budgets for projects. I am excited to see if this will meet your needs, or if an integration with a 3rd party PPM tool will suit you better. It will be available as part of the Service Management bundle at no additional charge.

sunderwood Feb 24, 2016 2:00 PM (in response to randyjessee)Hi Randy,
This is great news. Any chance in getting more details about features? I've actually been looking to buy something but would rather wait if you are developing a solution. Some our requirements are driven by a current engagement with Gartner regarding IT Governance models. This includes gathering information about business cases,, resources, etc.. Looking forward to hearing from you.
