check if agent on sd server is still alive

I recently had the problem of not installing software packages on multiple system. The whole system (1 Lanrev Server + 3 Distribution Server) was very unresponsive.

The solution was to have a deeper look onto those distribution servers, all of the had an unresponsive Lanrev Agent on them (Build 4603). Restarting the service was not possible so the only option was to restart the whole server.

How do I prevent this from happening again. Is there any way to monitor this?

          Hi Mathias,

If the agent was unresponsive, we'd definitely like to take a look to determine root cause. When you say the agent was unresponsive, what sort of behaviour were you noticing? The service took a long time to restart or the service would not stop?

Please log a support incident via support.heatsoftware.com if this happens again. We would want to grab some memory samples of the process in addition to investigate any other service that could be interacting with the agent in an undesirable manner (AV, etc).

          regards,

          dave

I'd like to create a service, but I still do not have a login for support.heatsoftware.com :-(
