You can use a quick action to export data out into excel format, Out of the Box there should be an action called 'CI List' available in the actions menu > Configuration Items.
You can modify the action to include additional fields in the export if you need.
Try selecting the CI you want the information for and then go to the the Quick Actions > Configuration Management > Print Asset Details it will run the complete report for that CI. After it's complete you will have the option to export different formats. I believe this was implemented in 2015.1.

Another way is to go into configure application --> roles and permissions --> admin ( or whatever role you want to do this for ) --> system permissions.
At the bottom is two check boxes. Check the one marked "Allow Microsoft Excel download from saved searches". Now from now on if you search for a CI via saved searches in the upper right of your CI work space you'll see a button to export to excel right from the saved search.
We have a daily schedule to export data in CSV format. These export files have a suffix with a date of the export. Is it possible to have the same file name without suffix and overwrite this file everytime? Has anyone tried this before?
