Can we set team as the owner or admin for a CI, instead of a person?

Using 2015.2.x - it would be helpful if we could identify a team, rather than a person, as the owner or administrator of a CI, especially in the case of servers and other infrastructure items. Has anyone done this?

I suppose it would depend on other business processes involved as well - generally you would want an individual as I've come across requirements in the past where the CI individual owners are involved in a CAB process but if this is just reporting purposes, no reason why it can't be done specifically for servers and infrastructure items.  In saying that I would replace the Owner field though as that may compromise some OOTB business rules already configured within the object itself.  I would just add it to the forms.

Overall this is not a bad idea, but you need to make a few amendments if you want business processes to pick it up as well. The simplest way would be to add the Team field on CI, and then to create a search and dashboard allowing filtering to be by team. From here work through your workflow, dashboards and processes on how you use CIs within your company to see where else you need to make amendments.
